Cheneil Major is the Founder and Executive Director of MSKDVO which was started in 2013 after her sister was murdered by her boyfriend. She coordinates speaking engagements to high schools, colleges, universities and graduate schools. Topics include global and local domestic violence, barriers encountered by survivors and strategies for assisting victims.., leads the organization in all aspects, giving back to the community, assisting women with the getting legal assistance, help seeking shelter, relocation and special resources for all victims.
Cheneil is very passionate about helping victims and survivors of domestic violence because she can relate on a very personal level. Her mission is to end domestic violence through public policy advocacy, education and activities that increase the capacity of programs and communities to address such violence. She is currently working on creating a Safe Haven in the City of Detroit that will provide everything for victims and survivors.
